Combination Growing Mix

Uhlenhake Landscape & Design exclusively uses this custom blended growing mix during the planting of plants. After much research, we have found that by custom blending this mix ourselves, better growing results will follow in the years after planting.

Ingredients Include:

  1. 75% Milorgranite Organic Fertilizer
  2. 15% Terra-Sorb
  3. 10% Mycorrhizal Fungi

Details:

  • Milorganite is used instead of regular salt-based fertilizer you see in the average store because of the organic make up of milorganite. DO NOT use regular fertilizer because they are salt based which means they pull water from the soil and dry out your plant. They also have a chance of burning the plant roots if applied right against the roots. Milorganite is organic made from waste sludge which will not burn plants. Its safer and better for the soil. It works well with the Mycorrhizal which will feed on this fertilizer.

  • Terra-Sorb is used to reduce the watering needs of newly planted plants. Terra-Sorb is a super-absorbent co-polymer gel that significantly increases the soil's water-holding capacity. The potassium-based gels hold up to 200 times their weight in water and slowly release it to nearby roots. Terra-Sorb will repeatedly absorb and release water for several years until it biodegrades naturally. It has the potential to reduce watering needs by 50%!

  • Mycorrhizal increase the surface absorbing area of roots by over 100x therefore improving the plants ability to take up soil resources. They attached themselves to the roots and help with the overall root system. Watch the video for my information.
